Our recent stay at Vulcan Lodge Cottages was fantastic. The location was perfect, with plenty to do nearby and a convenient shop just a short walk away. We were able to bring our dog along, which was a big plus for us. The communication with the hosts was excellent, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The property itself was warm and comfortable, with decent facilities and nearby parking. We especially loved the spacious rooms and the ability to socialize as a family. Despite a few minor drawbacks, such as the lack of lighting in certain areas and the uncomfortable sofas, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Vulcan Lodge Cottages. we would highly recommend this accommodation for a short break, especially during the winter months.

We had a fantastic week away at Vulcan Lodge in lovely Rhayader. The location was perfect for our first trip to Wales, with the red kite feeding site being a must-see attraction. The lodge itself was comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful Elan Valley during our hikes and the nearby Spar shop with a Greggs attached was very convenient. We will definitely be returning!

We had an amazing stay at Vulcan Lodge Cottages. The cottage on the left-hand side had a lovely garden entrance, perfect for enjoying breakfast or a BBQ outside in the sun. The location was fantastic, close to the beautiful river WYE where we could relax on a small bench by the riverside. Inside the cottage, we found all the facilities we needed, including a dishwasher, microwave. The living room was cozy and the kitchen spacious. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and there was even an extra laundry room. The owner, Elaine, was incredibly friendly and helpful. We couldn't have asked for better hospitality. We definitely hope to come back!
Liked everything. ️

The welcome pack was a nice touch, with tea, coffee, Welsh cakes, milk. The owner was friendly and gave us a thorough tour of the cottage. The cottage itself was well-equipped and beautifully furnished, creating a cozy and homely atmosphere. The location was convenient, with a garage nearby for any essentials we needed. Being close to the River Wye was a bonus, as it offered lovely walks in both directions.
The bed in the cottage was quite uncomfortable and the chesterfield sofa wasn't much better. The noise from lorries passing by on the adjacent road was constant, as the location was right next to a 24-hour petrol station.

We stayed in the two-bedroom Woodman cottage and it was in a great location with the river right behind it. The cottage was very spacious, perfect for a family of four and a dog. The downstairs entrance was convenient for hanging coats and storing our outdoor gear. Despite being close to a busy road, we couldn't hear any traffic noise in the cottage. The views of the valley from the windows were beautiful, and we even spotted red kites flying overhead. The cottage had all the basics we needed and the shower and bath were amazing. The Spar shop next to the cottage was recently renovated, which made it convenient for any necessities we needed. The owners were welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this cottage for a comfortable and scenic stay.

The cottage we stayed in was beautiful, with a spacious bedroom and a comfortable bed. The kitchen was well equipped and spotless. The garden was large and secure, and the hot tub was clean and big. We enjoyed the added convenience of having plastic wine glasses and cups provided. Additionally, the owner, Sarah, was helpful and welcoming.
It would have been helpful if the bathroom had cleaning materials and a toilet brush.

My recent stay at Vulcan Lodge Cottages was unforgettable. The location was perfect, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The convenience of having a petrol station, Greggs, Spar shop, and cash point right next to the lodge made everything so convenient. The spacious apartment had everything I needed and a warm welcome with a bottle of wine and Welsh cakes was a delightful touch. The beautiful River Wye was just a short walk away, adding to the charm of the area. The owner, Elaine, was incredibly helpful and approachable throughout my stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. Despite a couple of minor drawbacks such as a lack of proper cleaning in the cottage before my arrival and some noise from passing lorries due to the location on the A470, overall I had a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this place for a memorable stay in a stunning part of Wales.

We had the pleasure of staying at Vulcan Lodge Cottages and it was one of the nicest apartments we have ever stayed in! The Woodman two-bedroom cottage was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding area, with a Spar and Greggs nearby for convenience. We loved the river walk right on our doorstep and it was only a short drive into the charming town of Rhayader. The warm welcome from the owner made us feel right at home. we had a wonderful experience and we are definitely planning on going back!
The only minor drawback was the overgrown walking area from the cottage to the river bank. It wasn't the cottage's responsibility, but it did detract from the enjoyment of the previous visit.

The location was beautiful, surrounded by stunning scenery that truly took our breath away. We also appreciated the convenience of having a petrol station, Greggs, Spar shop, and cash point right next to the Lodge. The apartment itself was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were pleasantly surprised to find a welcome bottle of wine and Welsh cakes waiting for us upon arrival, a lovely touch. Despite a few minor drawbacks such as a soft bed and hard couch, and the need to drive out for walks, these did not greatly affect our overall experience at all. The lodge was clean, well-equipped, and provided a warm and cozy atmosphere. We also found the host to be extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful, providing us with directions and suggesting great places to visit, especially for our furry friend. we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Vulcan Lodge Cottages to anyone seeking a memorable stay in a beautiful location.
